About The Position

A unique opportunity to join a company making a difference in the maritime world. Due to ongoing expansion at our London hub, Windward is seeking a commercial manager to join our Trading and Shipping team. This role will be suitable for those with experience working within the trading or shipping industry or for those with Risk and Compliance SaaS sales experience.


In this role, you will lead the sales cycle for your assigned prospects and customers, representing the entire range of the company’s offerings, products, and services. 

This position will be mentored by the Commercial Director and will be a part of the Trading and Shipping EMEA sales team.


This commercial manager responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with new prospects and managing opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Account mapping to identify prospects’ key decision-makers, current relevant operations, workflows, and unmet needs.
  • Build, and be responsible for, the penetration plan for each account.
  • Coordinate the involvement of colleagues including management, Solution Expert Managers, and Customer Success Managers.
  • Participation in webinars, conferences, and other learning opportunities to continually develop knowledge and understanding of our customers’ industry. 


  • A minimum of 2 years:
  • account management experience, preferably in Risk and Compliance SaaS solution sales to the maritime industry; or
  • experience working within the trading or shipping industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience developing and leading client relationships.
  • Curiosity and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent market networking skills.
  • A target-driven approach with proven capability to meet sales targets/KPIs.
  • Willingness to travel to visit clients and prospects as required.
