About The Position

Windward empowers Government, National Security, and Intelligence agencies with a deep understanding of the maritime domain by fusing AI, big data, and maritime expertise.

We are seeking an experienced Solution Expert Manager (SEM) to join our Government team in London. In this role, you will partner with our sales directors to build new relationships and help secure critical contracts worldwide.

Responsibilities


  • Lead the technical aspects of the sales process, turning prospects into customers.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Windward’s government solutions.
  • Understand client requirements and design compelling solutions to secure contracts.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for prospective clients throughout the sales cycle.
  • Craft and refine pitches, deliver demos and presentations, run trials, and produce technical reports and collateral.
  • Create effective proposals and responses to RFPs/RFIs, aligning with client needs, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Share insights with stakeholders (Marketing, Customer Success, Product, R&D) to improve the customer journey.
  • Analyze the government ecosystem and competitive landscape to highlight Windward’s value proposition and differentiators.



Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Solution Expert / Pre-Sales in a SaaS company, selling to government agencies.
  • Maritime or intelligence background.
  • Knowledge of government budget cycles and procurement processes.
  • Proven success in managing large-scale tenders.
  • Strong grasp of geopolitical dynamics and how they influence government priorities.
  • In-depth understanding of government decision-making processes.
  • Must be able to present and brief confidently complex issues to both senior and technical stakeholders.
  • Must have a basic understanding of AI, Generative AI and LLMs.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; quick learner, curious, and open-minded.

Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, etc.) – advantage.
